Uefa Champions League: 5 Players to break Ronaldo’s record

In the Uefa Champions League, Real Madrid won the 14th title in the club’s history, after beating Liverpool in the final. Karim Benzema was the main man behind that triumph.

The Frenchman scored 15 goals and picked up the golden boot. But he still fell 2 goals short of Cristiano Ronaldo’s tally in the 2013/14 season.

Here are five players who could equal or surpass that tally in the next few years.

The 25-year attacking midfielder reached new heights in the 2021/22 season. The Frenchman scored over 30 goals in all competitions, and 7 in UCL. If he maintains this form and transfers to a bigger club he may surpass Ronaldo’s tally.

The English striker hasn’t played that much in the Champions League due to his team’s league positions. But he has a pretty good record, scoring 20 times in 24 games. If he moves to a bigger club or Tottenham keeps qualifying for the UCL, he may surpass Ronaldo’s tally.

The Brazilian was known for his dribbling skills but in 2021/22 he became a lethal winger and developed an eye for goal.

He has a lot of time to improve on his goal tally and possibly reach the heights of Cristiano Ronaldo.

The French forward has been one of the most lethal goal scorers in recent seasons. He has scored 14 goals in his last 18 UCL apps and could become as lethal as his Mentor.
