CHELSEA are set in signing Leonardo Cardoso from West Brom according to TheSun.
The West Brom midfielder, Cardoso, is highly rated by the West Brom but is yet to sign a professional contract due to he is 16years.
That could allow Chelsea to come in and offer him a deal once he turns 17 next May, according to Football Insider.
Football Insider also suggests other clubs could join the race to sign Cardoso, who has impressed at youth level for West Brom.
Cardoso’s performance has seen him called up in international both Portgual and England at youth level.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are reportedly working on signing the midfielder to Stamford Bridge.
Cardoso could follow a similar path to Billy Gilmour, another young midfielder who moved to Chelsea from Rangers on a loan before ever making a senior appearance for them.
