CHELSEA are reportedly set to sign Charlton’s England youth keeper James Beadle to train him as a future No 1.
Blues scouts has been eyeing the 17-year-old goalie for some time, and believe he has the potential to become a great keeper for the Chelsea first team in years to come.
And now they are set to sign him as he makes his breakthrough at under-21 level for the Three Lions.
League One Charlton are in vulnerable situation to let go of Beadle.
And that means they could potentially lose him for any amount bid.
But Addicks chiefs are desperate for a fee for Janes Beadle and will fight tooth and nail for compensation.
They are hoping to get around £400,000, plus extras for the teen transfer.
However, Chelsea are in race with Brighton for Beadle’s signature, with other Premier League giants said to be eager.
At the moment, Chelsea are well pleased after signing Edouard Mendy in 2020 for £22million.
Mendy has been so good and one of Europe’s best goalies, and showed a masterclass in a recent 1-0 win against Brentford.
Chelsea also have Kepa Arrizabalaga on their b, a £72million buy, waiting in reserve. Although, he is said to be interesting Italian giants Juventus according to a report.
Beadle was instrumental in helping Charlton win the Professional Development League 2 South title last season.
He also was in the U23 squad over the past year.
