Chelsea thrashed Norwich City FC 7 to nil as Mason Mount hat-trick boast Boasts Blues top of the EPL

Mason Mount got a hat-trick as Callum Hudson-Odoi, Ben Chilwell and Reece James also got on the scoresheet for Chelsea.

It was the first time in football history Chelsea had four or more English players score for them (not including own goals) in a Premier League game.

It was also the first time it has happened in the English Premier league since October 2016 Bournemouth FC played Hull City.

Ben scored to make it 4-0 and he is the first English player to score in four consecutive Premier League games since Ex-Chelsea coach, Frank Lampard in February 2013.

It was the 18th time Chelsea have scored six or more goals in a EPL match more than any other team in the league.

Mount also became the 20th different player to score a hat-trick for Chelsea in Premier League.

Norwich were pushing hard against Thomas Tuchel’s side but Chelsea team hardly put a foot wrong.

And he delivered emphatically by opening the scoring and adding two more in the final 10 minutes including a penalty from Antonio Rudiger.

He said, “Before the game I put pressure on myself to get on the scoresheet, then three came around in the same game. It’s obviously a massive moment for me. I’ll remember this one for a long time”.

“I was always getting in positions to score, but I just wasn’t putting it in the back of the net”.

“I thought the last one might be offside. It was my luck today, but it’s also about the team.”

“We spoke before about being at it from the beginning, we did that today”.

“Players do come in in the absence of other players. We were on it the entire game but we never dropped our standards and kept going”.

“I always want to play every game. Sometimes you’ve got to take a backwards step, but in the last couple of games I’ve felt at it and ready to play”.

“It’s a big moment for me to score 3 goals at home at Stamford Bridge.”
