Edouard Mendy put up an incredible performance in the second half to deny Brentford from pulling a draw against Chelsea.
The 29-year-old goalkeeper has revealed what led to his great performance in the premier league match on Saturday with the bees.
Mendy won man-of-the-match following his string of superb saves to deny Brentford in the 1-0 win at Brentford community stadium.
Chelsea took the led through Ben Chilwell in the first half but the second half belonged to the home team who attacked from all angles to equalize the game but they were kept at bay by Chelsea goalkeeper, Edouard Mendy.
“It was very hard. there was so much tension in the game and a great atmosphere as the opponent continued to pressure more. we had to suffer and now we need to build on this, momentum in the champions league,” mendy said.
He went ahead revealing that it was down to hard work him and his teammates, including the coaches were able to do that.
“It’s down to hard work, I am happy with how i performed, I prepared during the week with my teammates and coaches to help the team and I was able to do that”.
“A team that wants to be at the top of the league all season have to sometimes find a way to win games, and we have done that”.
