Chelsea needed penalties to beat Aston Villa 4-3 in the Carabao Cup after playing 1-1 which saw them finishing as the winner.
An amazing start of the game saw both sides holding each other off in a solid way as their defending was good.
It was an easy game which saw Chelsea dominating the ball possession as it progressed with few opportunities.
Aston Villa also proved to be a better side as they looked up shop hoping to see the game through without conceding.
Things carried on without anyone able to get the breakthrough which was desperately needed by both teams who wanted the win.
The first half didn’t provide anything more as it ended with Chelsea and Aston Villa playing a goalless draw scoreline.
They began the second half with high hopes of getting something good while they push forward with more opportunities.
Chelsea took the less in the 54th minute through Timo Werner who scored an outstanding goal with assist from Reece James to make it 1-0.
Aston Villa leveled thing back in the 64th minute as Cameron Archer made sure his finishing was perfectly place past Kepa Arrizabalaga.
More coming from both ends as the game failed to provide more goal despite the amount of opportunities being provided.
The referee ended the game without Chelsea or Aston Villa getting the win after 90 minutes played between them.
It was straight to penalties which was a nervy moment for both teams who did everything to hold themselves ahead of the shootout.
It was Chelsea who looked good taking theirs as they scored their first few spot kicks which Aston Villa could score all of their played.
The shootout went on and on until if finally ended with Chelsea making it to the next round after winning 4-3 on penalties which they face Southampton next.
