Paris Saint Germain Hakimi defender has revealed the main reason behind his failed move to Chelsea this summer.
The Moroccan was set to make a move to Stamford Bridge during the transfer window which failed to work out.
Hakimi has come out to share details and reason why he didn’t make a move to Chelsea during the transfer window.
The Premier League and Paris Saint Germain were both on the race to sign the defender who later ended up moving to France.
His decision to make a move to France was earlier reported to be based on his wife who was offered a job in Paris.
The Blues miss out on signing the 22 year old who left Inter Milan, but they succeeded in bringing in Romelu Lukaku.
Here Is What He Said;
“I received two offers, one from Chelsea and one from Paris Saint-Germain.”
“However, I felt compelled to come to Paris and that I would have been content there.
“PSG is a fantastic club, and I am grateful for the immediate support I received from the supporters.
I was fortunate in that I was accompanied by so many other champions.
I like my time at PSG; we have a fantastic squad, and I am proud to be a part of it.”
Hakimi has been instrumental since making the move which has seen him seal regular playing time with the French giant.
Chelsea who couldn’t sign the defender had to go for Jules Kounde and also ended up not signing him after reaching agreement for personal terms.
