Chelsea FC heads to Wembley this evening against Liverpool for their second successive FA Cup final, after losing to Leicester City in 2021.
Having lost three of their last four finals under Antonio Conte, Frank Lampard and the current manager Thomas Tuchel himself, the Blues will be making history of being the first Premiership side to have lost four straight FA Cup finals they have appeared in.
Should Chelsea defeat Liverpool this night, it would be a job well done for extinguishing Liverpool’s quadruple dream this season. But will that be easy for Chelsea? No, I don’t think so, given their current poor run of form of losing crucial matches.
Although, beating Liverpool in the FA final will be a Herculean task for Chelsea who was defeated 11-10 on penalties by the same Liverpool side in the Carabao Cup final back in February.
But will Chelsea now agree to lose another final after the last 3 losses? That would simply mean a total failure on the part of the coach and the players as well as a bad record for the club.
Liverpool also likes to win their first FA Cup match after many years. The last time they won was in 2001 when they beat Arsenal 2-1. So, going into this game you and I will be expecting nothing less than a very thrilling encounter.

Both Chelsea and Liverpool have all they require in their Arsenal to win this match and lift the trophy, however, the final result will all still ball down to how each of the managers can correctly set his tactics, coupled with the emotional stability of the players to stay put and focused all through the match.
Let’s all call to mind that the two teams have met this season three times and played out a draw at 90 mins, including the Carabao Cup, where Liverpool eventually went to win on penalties. We are likely to have a repetition of that on Saturday evening as none of the team will like to lose to the other too easily.
Nevertheless, if there’s a team who doesn’t deserve to lose this important match and trophy, I think it’s none other but Chelsea. Liverpool also needs it so badly, but will Chelsea want to lose 4 straight finals they have appeared in within the space of 5years?
