According to the UK Mirror, the Premier League will deploy officials to the final-day games at Manchester City and Liverpool.
Both clubs have a chance to win the title on Sunday, as City is only one point ahead of the Reds heading into the final week.
Richard Masters, the Premier League’s CEO, will be in Manchester, while interim chairman Peter McCormick will be on Merseyside. A replica trophy, as well as 40 blank medals ready for engraving, will be with McCormick in Liverpool.
The city will have the real thing in its stadium, with plans to engrave the medals and trophies with the actual clubs and names after the event.
Should either team win, they will be given the same presentation, with a “community champion” giving the silverware to the appropriate captain?
Pep Guardiola’s players are heavy favorites to win the game. If they beat Aston Villa at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, they would win the Premier League for the fourth time in five seasons.
But, if Pep Guardiola’s team falters, Liverpool, who face out-of-form Wolves at Anfield, might be poised to pounce.
