Elon Musk’s position as world’s richest man has made Nigerians to challenge the world’s richest man on Twitter, arguing that there are many richer people in South-East of Nigeria, especially Nnewi and Onitsha, in Anambra State.
Yesterday, Tesla CEO, Elon Musk was announced as the new world’s richest person after overtaking Amazon founder, Jeff Bezos, according to Bloomberg.
After a 5% rise in Tesla shares, Musk’s stock in options rose by about $9.3 billion, to about $190 billion.
While a modest rise of less than 2% lifted Bezos’ Amazon shares by $2.7 billion, putting him at $187 billion.
This placed Bill Gates at a distant third with $132 billion, according to Bloomberg.
Meanwhile, Nigerians believe that there are many rich men in Nnewi whose net worth would surpass Musk when laid side by side.
Taking to Twitter, citizens of giant of Africa shared their thoughts on why they believe Musk, Bezos and Gates are not the top richest men in the world.
